Thanks to its geographical location, Santander is characterized by having almost all the climates that exist in Colombia, where two contrasting physiographic units, can be highlighted along its 87 municipalities: the Middle Magdalena valley - slightly mountainous, with jungle vegetation, where there are sectors of Equatorial forest and fertile marshes - and the Cordillera Oriental (eastern range of the Andes) – which covers most part of the department, that is characterized by its landscape of gigantic slopes -.

Bucaramanga

Founded in 1622, Bucaramanga stands out as one of the most beautiful cities of Colombia. The notable presence of parks and green spaces located all over the city, have made that Bucaramanga is best known as the City of Parks, the Pretty City or Convivial City.

Barichara

Barichara means “resting place” in Guane dialect, and is a village which invites to breathe tranquility. History, art, culture, traditions and nature converge in this destination, considered a jewel of the colonial architecture; it has kept its cobbled streets and houses made in trodden tapia, which have given to Barichara the recognition of being "the most beautiful village of Colombia".

San Gil

San Gil is known as "the tourism capital of Santander", because it offers a variety of activities to practice ecotourism and extreme sports due to the geographical and climatic characteristics as well as the history, culture and religion heritage, which are very important in the region.
